Physics BTEC Training Day 2 Fri 18th June 2010

'If you have any doubts about attending the course, this has been much better than any Edexcel training I have attended for BTEC science; primarily due to the hands on approach the team at the physics factory have taken to delivering the course, and their close liaison with senior Edexcel EV’s'.

Both Day 1 and Day 2 of the Level 2 BTEC Physics training course have been excellent. Some very hard work has been put in to ensure a very professional delivery of both days of the course, including a very good set of resources produced by Phil and the team. If you have any doubts about attending the course, this has been much better than any Edexcel training I have attended for BTEC science; primarily due to the hands on approach the team at the physics factory have taken to delivering the course, and their close liaison with senior Edexcel EV’s.

COURSE EVALUATIONS – SUMMARY

16 DELEGATES

100% of delegates said they thought the course was either 'good or very good' with 81% saying it was 'very good'

SOME COMMENTS FROM THE DELEGATES:

‘The practical on light and sound were very useful and the pupils will find the practicals stimulating and interesting.’
‘A good second day – built well on first.’
‘Excellent delivery. Very useful resources. Very hands on.’
‘Outstanding presentation by all the presenters. It was obvious that they were enthusiastic about Physics. Excellent subject knowledge demonstrated by the presenters. I found all aspects of the course helpful because it provided me with ideas and activities for all the tasks in the area of Physics BTEC that the pupils find most boring. These tasks are really simple, straight forward and motivating.’
‘As someone who is not a Physics specialist, it was very useful to learn many new practical ideas that were worked directly to the BTEC Physics pass criteria.’
‘The waves part was so useful. I feel able to make this topic more interesting.’
‘Clear and enjoyable with an abundance of activities to engage and excite pupils. The interesting anecdotes and hooks make the material much more engaging’
‘Covered knowledge and understanding for non-specialists.’

DELEGATES IDENTIFIED FUTURE INSET NEEDS:

Student revision sessions
Similar sort of Inset for Diploma
Rest of Physics BTEC Units
Technicians could do with an overview of the experiments
A Level Physics

I attended both days training and i can truely say that as a physics non specialist it was the best inset training i have ever had. Carrying out the practicals gave me the confidence to deliver the physics units in a more hands on way.
